Activities
The Placement Cell functions under the direct control and directions of the Placement Coordinators of the College. A team of Professors work together to guide the students on Career opportunities.
The objective of the cell is to identify the talents available among the students of this College and nurture and harness them further and offer guidance to choose a bright and right career.
The activities of the Cell include
1. Collecting the database of the students and compiling them for use when needed.
2. The Cell facilitates the students to improve their skills to face various competitive exams
3. The Cell organizes short course and meetings to encourage the students to plan their future.
4. Above all, the main function of the cell is to invite reputed companies to the campus and off campus to conduct interviews and find suitable jobs for the skills available among the students.

Stage 1 Grooming and Etiquettes training
Companies need trained and qualified students who are job ready. Since there are rapid and continuous changes in the economy and industry, it takes time for the academic curriculum to incorporate the latest developments in economy, technology and industry requirements.
While ample of job opportunities are available, recruiters find that the students are not up to the mark or do not have latest or requisite skills. Karnataka College of Pharmacy has instituted an extensive training Programme to upgrade skills of students and help them get good jobs. All students underwent extensive Soft Skills Training to improve their personality, communication skills, grooming and etiquette etc. This improves their confidence and helps them in effective interaction with others.
Finally, students undergo an intensive placement preparation where they get trained in resume preparation, participation in group discussions and personal interviews. Mock GD & personal interviews are conducted. HR professionals are invited to the campus to conduct Guest Lectures about their expectation from the candidates and to guide the students in how to prepare themselves for landing their dream jobs. Stage 2 Soft Skill Development Program
Training and Placement cell of Karnataka College of Pharmacy organised the “SOFT SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM” for final year students of degree and master courses. This program was organized to create awareness among outgoing students about needs of Industry, expectations from them and various qualities needed for good placement. In Collaboration with SS OPALS the Soft Skill Development Programmes are conducted in relevant domain areas to enhance professional skills of students. Various topics such as
- Planning, Goal Setting, Developing Potential, Self-Actualisation, Time Management

Stage 3 Mock Interviews and Group Discussions
Students were trained by various experts from Industries and Academia for placement related skills. Mock Placement Drive was organized by the Institute wherein students were evaluated for the training imparted during the program.
The students also had industrial visits during this academic year. During the “Mock Placement Drive" the students have been identified their Excellency in aptitude and non-aptitude test, group discussion and mock interviews.
Stage 4 Pre-Placement Talks, Company Presentations
Placement process comprises of some or all of the below:
- Presentation by the participating Company
Companies are encouraged to give pre-placement talks before the commencement of recruitment process. This gives students a chance to know more about the company, work culture, growth opportunities and learning and advancement opportunity at the organisation. They will also get a clear idea of the kind of profile that they would be working on. This would enable the students to make an informed choice and help enhance the effectiveness of the company’s selection process.

Stage 5 Selection of Student by Corporate
HR can conduct different rounds of selection process and inform the names of selected students to the Placement Department, which in turn shall inform the concerned students of the same. Final Job Offers would be provided by the companies, which shall be accepted and acknowledged by the students. All the job offers will be channelled through the Placement Department.
Stage 6 Offer Letter by Corporate to the Student
The offers letters for the selected candidate should either be mailed or sent to the Placement Department based on the final selection. In case any company wants the selected student to join them prior to the completion of the academic year / University exams (early joining), the same shall be informed by the company to the Placement Department. The permission for the same is granted on case-to-case basis and the College reserves the right to approve or disapprove the same.
